What was the catalyst? 

I reached retirement age and realised that I didn’t have a good exit strategy.  It was a really tricky time immediately post-covid but then we entered a growth phase, and I wanted to plan my exit. I spoke to my financial advisor, and he recommended I speak to Richard Murray. 

 

Why elephants child? 

I had got a quote from one of the big brokers to sell the business but felt that I wanted some advice based on someone who had knowledge of the market. I felt like I didn’t know enough and really wanted somebody with that expertise and really appreciated the advice from Richard on where to go. 

 

How did elephants child help? 

I sent through the details of my business and Richard said he would set up some meetings to choose a possible broker to sell the business. We interviewed several and picked Hornblower who went on to successfully sell the business. 

 

The company was already growing anyway so it was really just the advice around the exit that I needed and I would definitely recommend elephants child to other people, you know especially if you’re not sure where to go to sell your company, it’s really good to get some expert advice from someone who’s also independent.
